Historical statements should trace to primary texts, museum catalogues, academic publications or controlled vocabularies. Articles identify uncertainty and preserve catalogue terms such as “unknown,” “attributed” and “about” rather than converting them into certainty.
Myth and comparison
A literary account is presented as an account by a named writer or tradition. Different phoenix-like beings are not merged because of appearance or an English translation. Comparison must explain both similarity and difference.
Images
Generated illustrations are labelled with their production method and date. They are not presented as artifacts, reconstructions or photographs. Decorative marks without documentation are described as fictional forms and never translated.
